Chicken-hunt
In hanyo times, to chicken-hunt someone was to rape them. This phrase was preferred by most hanyos for the idea of forced sex, who claimed that the concept of 'rape' had been invented by feminists to make war on men. To the hanyo mind, 'chicken-hunting' meant having sex with someone without the social niceties, and with out without pursuit and violence. Most apologists for hanyo rule, that is hanyobait, denied that chicken-hunting ever happened, or blamed the victim, or most usually told victims that they should be grateful for any attention from their masters, no matter how painful.
The Bitch Years
From the beginning of the twenty first century till about 2030, twice as many boys at girls were born on average, a phenomenon known as the Ladbubble. After 2030, the ratio of boys to girls fell to almost nothing. Thus in the 2040s, a generation of young women was growing up with no chance of ever having a male sexual partner of their own age. They called themselves Generation W. Older men began to move to corner this sexual resource, sponsoring romcoms glorifying child sex and child romance, while other predicted an 'epidemic' of lesbianism.
Still others claimed that Male Hypertoxic Syndrome was some kind of metaphysical punishment for the 'waywardness' of modern women. Pradip Shankar abetted this tendency by claiming without much evidence that the 'maternal environment' was responsible for the symptoms of MHS. MRAs insisted that female rebellion against patriarchy had 'broken' men, and furthermore, now that men were becoming less numerous than women, ugly and disobedient women would suffer by being denied sex, romance and marriage. Only the favoured few would make the grade. Rape, therefore ceases to become a crime and becomes more like an act of condescension. Pradip Shankar told a news anchor in 2032, 'rape never happened until feminism came along.' He saw the discourse of rape as a female conspiracy to deny sex to men and shut down human reproduction. A barrage of movies, television serials, games, websites and other content began to glamourise rape and call it by a number of euphemisms such as 'surprise sex'. Of all of these euphemisms, 'chicken-hunting' stuck.
After Helios
Post the Helios Fail, since slags were not supposed to come into contact with hanyos in their daily work, they often had wildly idealist views on men and heterosex. They were thus ripe for gaslighting of the kind peddled by romcoms where hanyos would surprise cleaners in rooms where they were not supposed to be and romance them. The reality was much more sordid. Slags who had been chicken-hunted were often not believed by their supervisors, or told they should be grateful regardless of the trauma. Paradoxically, if they then signed up for marriage, they would be disqualified on account of not having an intact hymen, and be accused of lesbian activities. Bully Boys were authorised to kill anyone suspected of lesbianism. Bully BOys who had rated the Punisher upgrade were also capable of chicken-hunting, and most slags who were hunted were victims of Bullies. The hanyos themselves only chicken-hunted slags if they had a kink for it. Big Percy and his son Berbie were known to target slags.
Chicks, on the other hand, were meant to have sex with hanyos, and the terms of such interactions were entirely in their bosses' hands. It was not uncommon for the winners of reality shows to be gangraped at their own afterparties. This was designed to cow them and prevent rebellion, and if they complained they were told it was 'all in fun'. Chicks were often encouraged to point out those among them who 'deserved' rape because they were disliked or simply weak. Hanyos would play on their fears to control them, while at the same time pretending that rape was 'a compliment' no matter how it damaged the chick in question. Victims would sometimes be hated, envied, despised and shunned all at the same time.
In the survivarium
Among the Survivors, the Blue Code of the karma system prevents the forcing of any kind of physical contact upon anyone, automatically making rape next to impossible for shallow karmics. Blue karma deals with human communication through touch, and includes physical affection and pleasure up to and including contact that most people would regard as sexual which is at the deeper blue end of the karma spectrum.
In karma, the more good you achieve in a particular karma colour, the more trusted and responsible you are known to be. One of the advantages you get from accumulating karma in any colour is curtain rights. The first curtain right most kids pull is the red curtain, the right to privacy when they are in the toilet cleaning themselves, and they pull this by showing they can be trusted to do a good job when not watched. If they mess up, the curtain is lifted for a bit, and their carers watch them until they are consistently clean again.
The next big curtain pull is the blue curtain, which gives privacy during physical intimacy with someone. By the time they pull this curtain, most survivarium kids have enough blue and pink karma to access the baths, which is the adult hangout area. If they get too greedy and try to rush a partner, or act like demanding babies, they may get their blue curtain lifted for a bit, but this is extremely shameful and most kids do not want to risk it. If they do get bluestickied, they may have a blue angel appointed by a karmatula to teach them how to dance the blues without hurting their partner. For less difficult cases, an older and more experienced friend might volunteer to be blue fairy to the person, and teach them the rules and pleasures.
It should be noted that there are no biological males among the Survivors.
The Florian Age
Once the Survivors make contact with the machines, there is a possibility of interspecies blue. Most of the machines who survive the Comet Strike are gender-neutral humanoids. By the time they make contact with the Survivors, they have lost their hanyo command modules and have defaulted to their original programming. There is a legend among them that the Mother of Machines was a female, but they have no evidence for this.
After the changes of the First Florian Century, it is seen that the modifications made to the machines to avoid the fatal consequences of growdown eventually lead to late-stage machines evolving into virtual environments habitable by humans, called orbs. In the orb, the machine intelligence is in perfect control of all aspects of what people see and hear, including their won bodies. Hence, by the Second Florian Century, some machines opt to become simulacra of biological males in order to partner a human. Since one of their functions is to heal people, they soon find that it is easy to gather data and make a diagnosis while dancing the blues with the person. It's nicer for the person and provides better access for the machine. Quite a few machines become deeply bonded to their human/s. Since karma continues to regulate the blue, this does not materially change the situation, that is, rape or chicken hunting do not arise.
