Hanyo town is the term used by Zigsa (and therefore most Survivors) to refer to the corporate enclaves, service territories and radiopoisoned deserts in between them. It also refers to the practices, philosophies and systems of the hanyos and their corporations, and the places where they were practiced.

Corporate enclaves

These were the spaces where hanyos and their chicks lived and worked. They were usually walled or protected in some way; for instance the corporate enclave of the Ramdhun headquarters, New Singapore, comprised the superstructure of the floating city, which slags could only access under special permission. Corporate enclaves were beautifully laid out with gardens, smooth roads, sumptuous malls and graceful skyscrapers, and all squalor and ugliness was carefully concealed.

Service Territories

Service territories, also known as Slagland were the places outside the corporate enclaves where the service staff lived. The y could have any kind of design from the soulless barracks of the land-based Ramdhun territories, to the quasi-normal suburbs of Shigenobu Corporation.

Radiopoisoned deserts

Hanyo town has no concept of wilderness. There is either city, or there is wasteland. The radiopoisoned deserts were the uninhabitable places where hanyos dumped the toxic fallout of their world. Here people who had outlived their usefulness were abandoned to die.
