In 2079 Ramdhun Corporation carried out a nuclear strike on Tokyo, completely destroying the city and killing most of its inhabitants. Ramdhun had recently acquired Japan by acquiring Shigenobu Corporation. This was in response to the sit-in protest that had developed out of the Joking Clown's maiden tour to Japan, which was supposed to consolidate Ramdhun's hold over its new territory. The Tokyo Concert was meant to end the Clown's tour of Japan, but after it ended the fans barricaded all the exits and refused to leave the stadium. They had previously stockpiled food and water. When several attempts to break the protest failed, Ramdhun ordered the strike. The fireball was visible as far away as Zigsa's Nest.
